Mouse cursor problem!

Hello!
I have a very strange problem.
The active point of the mouse cursor is not where the cursor appears.
The cursor I see is about 1 cm to the diagonal left. For example, if
i paint a line in Paint the line will be around 1cm from the cursor.
When i booting upp vista with F8 (don't know the name for that mode in
english) everything works as it should. I would be very happy if I got
some help.
Best regards

Re: Mouse cursor problem!

Hi,

I have the exact same problem! Is there anyone that has a solution/tip/link/patch/etc? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Big thanks in advance!

I too have this same problem. I have tried different mice, but have the
same problem. What computers are each you using? I am using a Dell
XPS420 that I bought in March.

Re: Mouse cursor problem!

Hi All,

I'm no expert, but I would guess that if things work fine in 'safe mode' (F8), then the problem is probably a driver or some program that is not started in 'safe mode'. If the problem is specific to one or another program (I had a prob. similar to this in Corel Photo Paint), try right click on the program file (or a shortcut), select properties, compatibility tab and check the 'disable desktop composition' box. If it is a general problem, the first thing I would try is to reinstall the mouse driver. I too have a dell xps420. Tried their tech support (email). The answer I received after 3 weeks led me to believe they didn't even read the email.

Just a thought. Hope it helps.
