| | Vista Troubles All, I have been using Vista business on my laptop for a couple of months now. For the past few days, out of the blue, I have started getting really annoying little problems with it. Here are some samples: 1) I cannot use the Search box in Internet Explorer. It lists all search providers and I could choose one. I could even enter the search text, but when I press the Enter key or click on the "Search" button it does nothing 2) When I open "Find" in IE and click on the "Next" button, I get an Automation server error. 3) When I open Windows Explorer and double click on a folder it opens in a new Window although in the Folder options for the computer, the drive and the folder that I am double clicking on has that set to open in same window. 4) In IE the "Menu Bar", "Work Offline", "Full Screen" menu items are always greyed out. When I right click on a link and click "Open in New Tab", or "Open in New Window" nothing happens. 5) Clicking on a link that opens a new window stays blank and a "App Busy" cursor is displayed over it. I am not sure what more is broken inside, yet I don't remember installing / uninstalling anything that would break Windows. I have a feeling that all these problems are linked to one solution, but I have not had luck finding a solution for it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks and Regards, Eswar |

| | Re: Vista Troubles If you have any 3rd party toolbars installed, now would be a good time to remove them. Run spyware scans with Spybot or whatever you have, but do it in Safe Mode. When you think that the machine is clean, try doing a Vista System Restore to a date prior to your troubles.. | | Re: Vista Troubles Thanks. I tried all of your suggestions. But to no avail. When I do a "Run as Administrator" on IE, I seem to get a proper working IE, but not as a standard user.
