attempting to copy to the disk itunes (-53) "unknown error"

I get this message every time i try to synch my ipod video 60gb unit
to my PC (not mac).. I'm using the latest version of itunes..

At one point i got a message about the ipod being corrupted, so i did
a restore on it.. this didnt seem to help, as I get this message near
the end of the sync each time..

Any thoughts on this one?

(This is on a vista x64 machine, i think i've also uninstalled and
reinstalled itunes)

Someone somewhere else found the meaning of the error:

"volume not on line error (was Ejected)"

It seems, just guessing, that vista or itunes is ejecting the device
before it finishes syncing for some reason>?

I seem to have gotten through this for now.. i simply deleted all the
songs from my itunes library and readded the music folder (unless i
just got lucky on this last sync).
