Windows Vista restart loop- Triggered by anything.

Most of the threads i've viewed regarding reboot/restart looping concerns the
user's looping being triggered by installing vista, or using windows update.

If I simply restart my computer, this occurs.
If I install a program of any kind it will occur.
If I shut down my computer then go to start it up, it'll go into a restart
loop.
Same for windows update, or even if my laptop runs out of battery.

Half an hour of screaming and yelling the first time this occured got me
smashing f8, or similar, then choosing the "...Last known configuration"
option and making my computer work, but it's obviously somewhat inconvenient.

Now i'm attempting to install a new program and it won't install because the
restart was really bad, so i've finally decided to ask someone about this.

Any suggestions/advice/help would be awesome, thankyou.

Re: Windows Vista restart loop- Triggered by anything.

Have you tried repairing the installation by booting from the Windows Vista
DVD, go into the Windows Recovery Environment choose Repair Computer >
select your installation and Choose repair start up. Reapply updates then
install your program.

This could just be a motherboard or video card driver issue, can you
check the machine manufacturer's website for any info on such problems
and also run a memory check if you have no better luck with it. Could
also be a wrong BIOS setting or a hardware problem - you may just get
lucky and find the exact fix hidden away someplace.
