New behavior when booting to Vista

I either hang on the BIOS ID screen with a "Can't find drive 0", or if
I get to the boot selector screen )after a C/A/D or cold boot, and
select "Microsoft Windows"(Vista)it goes to a dark screen and hangs

Booting here to XP, perhaps obviously, works. Corrupted MBR or what?
Just did an update to XP (Wga Notify). I'm going to restore to before
that and see...

Re: New behavior when booting to Vista

If you boot with the Vista DVD you will see repair options on the lower left
of the splash screen.

Re: New behavior when booting to Vista

Ahh, Colin, do I just put in the DVD and cold boot? See, I don't
think I've ever booted to the DVD drive exactly, just started the
Vista install from XP (sheepishly shuffling feet);-)(sorry)

Re: New behavior when booting to Vista

Oh, things did get back to normal with a restore to prior to that XP
update, but I still don't like what happened. I'll try that repair
once I get that lesson in booting to my DVD drive that is ;-)

Re: New behavior when booting to Vista

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. This is a beta and instability is the
order of the day.
