| | Acrobat Reader 7 problems Vista Home Basic, IE7 Had been using Acrobat reader 7 without any problems until this evening (Widows updates installed this morning). I could open a PDF that was already on my machine without problem but when trying to view a pdf from the web, I get a couple of messages that it could not find external handler. A quick work-around is to right click on the link and 'save target as' - then you can manually open the file with acrobat 7. Tried to reinstall Reader 7 without any improvement. Uninstalled reader 7 and went to Adobe to get a fresh copy of the reader. Hmmm, the only reader supported for Vista evidently is reader 8. With Vista, it won't even let you try to get version 7. Install reader 8 and all good again. Acrobat reader 8 has a different look and feel that will take a bit of use to get accustomed to (but then, so did Vista) Installed updates listed in attachment. |

| | Re: Acrobat Reader 7 problems Might be security issues in version 7 that does meet the level of security requirements in Vista why its not working. 8.1 is nice though, also works on Vista x64. -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry "Oppie" <oppie@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:uBXlVEhDIHA.3716@xxxxxx Quote: > Vista Home Basic, IE7 > > Had been using Acrobat reader 7 without any problems until this evening > (Widows updates installed this morning).
