| | Re: Classic Star Menu Shut Down Yes, this can be changed. Do the following: 1. Select Start button, "Control Panel" menu item. 2. Click "Power Options". 3. Click "Change plan settings" under the active plan. 4. Click "Change advanced power settings". 5. Locate and expand "Power buttons and lid" option. 6. Locate and expand "Start menu power button" option. 7. Change the "On battery" and "Plugged in" options from "Sleep" to Shutdown". 8. Click OK button. This should do the job. - Chirag PowerShow - View multiple PowerPoint slide shows simultaneously http://officeone.mvps.org/powershow/powershow.html "JamesJ" <jjy@xxxxxx_darwin.net> wrote in message news:uWcRoAzDIHA.4476@xxxxxx Quote: >I want 'Shut Down' to be the default selection when I choose Shut Down > from the Classic Start menu. | | Re: Classic Star Menu Shut Down How do I set for Restart? I usually leave my systems run 7x24 and most often restart, I have PC keys that will put my laptops into sleep or hibernate. While researching this I saw something on the "lock button" but I don't see this as an option on the Classic start menu" I do not believe you can set it to Restart. You can create a Restart icon that you can leave on the desktop or in the Start menu. This will show you how. Restart Shawn |
