| | Autoroute 2005 incompatibility with Vista When trying to load Autoroute 2005 and other programs, I get the following message "error opening installation logfile. Verify that the specified log file location exists and is writable". Can someone expalin what I should do. I am a relative beginner. -- John |

Right click the programs executable > click Properties > "Compatibility" tab Quote: > under "Compatibility Mode" check the Run this application in compatibility Windows. Certain applications might encounter problems with the new User Account Control security component in Vista because the application was designed to run with Administrative privileges. If it does just change the location to another directory on your system and it should work. However, this is only a problem with UAC switched on. With older programs I've adopted the strategy of not installing them in the Program Files folder. My suggestion is that you create a new folder, say "Old Progs", and install older software in sub-folders of that folder. Hope this approach works for you. Alex Balfour |
