| | User Control blocking CCleaner.exe programme when Vista opens.... How do I allow this programme to run automatically without me having to accept this all the time. It used to allow it automatically, but when I ran an update for this programme, it popped up the box to allow and now it does this every time. It is an allowed programme on Windows Defender and it is not blocked through my firewall. Please help as this is driving me MAD!!!!!! Thank you! |

Just out of interest is this the 32 bit version of CCleaner that runs on XP or is it a specific Vista version. I'm looking for a program to wipe the history / temp files etc.. similar to CCleaner but for vista.... | | Re: User Control blocking CCleaner.exe programme when Vista opens. The drop down arrow doesn't give me any option to allow it all the time, it just gives me more information about the programme. As for the programme, it is CCleaner v2.01 and runs of Vista. It is an excellent programme that cleans all those that you stated plus it fixes all registry errors and problems. You can programme it to run when you first open up Windows Vista and it runs in the background and uses up hardly any of your RAM. The only problem I'm having is that that I have asked about. I'm not always here to click "Continue" and would like for it to run on its own again. | | Re: User Control blocking CCleaner.exe programme when Vista opens.... I don't use ccleaner. Their official support forum is here: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showforum=4 Given the nature of the program it probably needs administrator privileges. This means that it needs uac approval to run. Personally I don't recommend you run a program like this on every startup. These types of programs are best run manually as part of a regular maintenance routine. -- Kerry Brown Microsoft MVP - Shell/User http://www.vistahelp.ca "jenc6979" <jenc6979@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:83C434E3-A3DE-4EEC-AB86-6621C1CE46F7@xxxxxx Quote: > How do I allow this programme to run automatically without me having to > accept this all the time. | | Re: User Control blocking CCleaner.exe programme when Vista opens. I've never had any problems running this programme automatically until I updated it. I only allow it to clean my IE stored pages, cookies and cache files. How can I allow it to run through UAC!!!???! I have followed the help files but it is still blocked. If not, then can someone recommend a programme that I can download that will do this for me safely without me having to allow it all the time? "Kerry Brown" wrote: Quote: > I don't use ccleaner.
