| | Dell Inspiron 1420 display problem When I open the lid of my Dell Inspiron 1420 notebook it comes out of standby fine but the display resolution is reset to 1024x768 from 1440 x 900. I have to manually change it to 1440 x 900. This happens pretty often but not always. Has anyone experienced this? Any idea where to look for a fix? I have a clean install of Vista Business with all the latest Dell drivers. The newer Intel display driver will not install. Pretty weird as I have never had a problem installing an Intel display driver on a Dell. When I attempt to install the Intel driver, it advises me to see Dell! |

Very frustrating. I found a discussion board on this on howtogeek.com (http:// http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic...settings-issue), but the link that helped someone else doesn't work for me. I'm trying to figure out this out on my own, but maybe you'll have more luck. If I figure it out, I'll post again. |
