Does it show up in Device Manager? What about the BIOS have you checked
that? Can you access the drive from a command prompt? Are all your
Motherboard / Chipset drivers installed correctly?

using vista pre. computer says a: drive ok but windows will not access.
power ok, drive ok any ideas? thanks.
