Software and Missing D: Drive

Hello! I'm new at this forum, and I'm a new Window Vista user. The last
couple months, I have been having some problems with missing d: drive. I have
had it restored from professional help, they told me that if I use a cd rom
that is 98/Me/2000/XP it would make the d: drive to disapear. So. I was
wondering if this software that I purchased, "Platinum Print Master Version
17", which is designed for 98/ME/2000/XP. If I installed this CD will I lose
the d: drive again? Could any of you help me since Im a rookie? Thanks a
bunch!

The information you got from the "professionals" was wrong. There is
something else going on with your computer. We need more information
about the "some problems with a missing d: drive". To do this, you
should provide details about your computer (new, make/model, old one
that you upgraded to Vista, etc.) and the history of the problem. This
link will show you what is needed to get focused help:

As for the Platinum Print Master program, go to its maker's website and
see if the program is compatible with Vista. Trying to install an
incompatible program normally will not make the optical drive disappear
from Windows but will certainly cause other issues.

So it is, much to my surprise. Looks like someone let the domain
registration lapse. I liked that one because it was more polite and
focused on the Microsoft newsgroups and not Usenet in general, but here
are some other links about what to include in a newsgroup post:
