Dear friends,

I use vista basic edition in my laptop,in more than 98% when i insert a plug
and play devices(i.e ext. HDD or flash memory or sony digital camera) in USB
ports ,windows send a message which you have to install it and windows can
not install itself,while the xp windows or my desktop computer can do this?
please conduct me.

I have the same problem... certain things such as my usb mouse and ipod work,
but i tried to install a flash drive the other day and it kept asking for the
cd even though there isn't one and it should have installed itself..

please can some one get back to us..
