CD Rom not recognised by windows

After using I Tunes to import an audio CD ( Successfully) the computer will
not recognise a new audio ( or any other cd/dvd) disk, nor will I Tunes,
however (!) Windows Media player WILL play the CD. Is this bizarre or what?
Only afer re-starting windows will it perform normally. Any suggestions?

RE: CD Rom not recognised by windows

Possum3,
Read the thread "Help! No DVD drive detected after iPod connection" in this
same NG.
It is dated Nov 19th.
There you will find all the explanations and solutions.
