| | Flash Disk Found New Hardware When connecting a flash disk vista won't install it but it's Vista Ready. It makes the sound of a new connected device but won't find the necesary drivers. I've installed the hotfix from the vista support mail, but still nothing. NO flash disks seems to work. So what's the problem? |

| | RE: Flash Disk Found New Hardware Hej I had exactly the same problem. I have 2 falsh keys and 3 cameraes, none of them worked after I upgraded to Vista from XP. I have got 3 horfixes from Microsoft (it seems it is a machine) because they sent the same proposal 3 times and it didnt work. I tried to: 1. delete the inccache.1 file in Windows/inf directory 2. when Vista says it cant instal the driver tell Vista to look in: Windows/system2 (include all subdirectories) 3. look for a file called USBSTOR.INF in the Windows/inf directory. If it isnt there you must get it from another computer or find it on the internet (I did that yesterday). You just copy it to the mentioned directory and it works (you even dont have to reboot). (I lhave a Danisjh Vista version but I found the USBSTOR file on an American download site) It worked for me. | | RE: Flash Disk Found New Hardware Santa didn't help .. INFCACHE.1 can't be deleted. It says that i have needpermission to perform this task. I even tried to delete this file in Safe Mode. Tried to install without deleting the file. No hope. I'm logged with Administrator and using a Windows Vista Buissness Edition. |

| | RE: Flash Disk Found New Hardware I had the same problem and I followed what Poul wrote without deleting the INFCACHE.1 file and it worked. I only copied the files USBSTOR.INF and USBSTOR.PNF from onother machine and it worked. "cristi" wrote: Quote: > Santa didn't help .. INFCACHE.1 can't be deleted.
