ATI CrossFire Resource Issues?

I have set up a new system:

ECS 945P-A v1.1- Bios updated and supports crossfire
Intel P4 3.0- 775 slot
4gb Crucial DDR2 533 memory
ATI HD 2400 PRO PCIe

System runs fine with Windows XP 32 and 64 versions,

When tried to set up crossfire with Windows Vista 32 and 64 I have the
following issues (Note: Clean and upgraded both options tried):

The second ATI PCIe card is not found
There is a resouce issue in device mgr as follows:
(!) Intel(R) 82801 G (ICH7 Family) PCI express Root Port -27D0

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other
devices on this system.

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and
to see if there is a solution available.

NOTE: This only happens with vista ANY version.
I have updated the OS.
I have updated the bios to the lates version.
I have updated the chipset to the latest version.
I have disabled in the bios:
Serial ports
Floppy Drive
Parallel Ports

I also have dropped memory to 1gb.

Microsoft has been contacted, and I recieved a "Patch" for the issue KB 929550
and installed to no avail.

I was just wondering if someone else has run into this problem and "fixed"
it for themselves?

If more info is needed please feel free to ask,

Thanks All

RE: ATI CrossFire Resource Issues?

Does the system see both of the cards in normal Non-Crossfire mode? Have you
tried running one card at a time to eliminate a problem with one of the video
cards?

If it see's both cards in Non-Crossfire mode then you need to check the
bridge connectors between the cards. They have been known to have problems
bending and breaking the little connectors running thru the bridge.

I'm using Vista Ultimate X64 and I don't have any problem running Crossfire
on my system but I'm using older cards (X1900's) that use the dongle cable
between the cards and not the bridge connectors like yours. Also I haven't
had any problems with Cat 7.10 or Cat 7.11 drivers. Just make sure you
download the proper driver for either the 32 bit or 64 bit version of Vista.
