| | USB 2.x Crashes system but 1.x is ok with Nvidia NF4 Chipset I had this issue with XP as well and read that it was due to a timing error when one has a dual core processor and a NF4 chipset. What's odd is that the issue cropped up about 2 months ago which was a good 6 months after I installed Vista Ultimate X64. Any idea as to how to fix this? Thanks! | | Re: USB 2.x Crashes system but 1.x is ok with Nvidia NF4 Chipset Hi, It would require a chipset driver update from Nvidia to correct, see if there is one available for your system here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Dr. Edison" <DrEdison@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:ED89B0AE-C966-40B6-B250-5F3F15DA1371@xxxxxx Quote: >I had this issue with XP as well and read that it was due to a timing error > when one has a dual core processor and a NF4 chipset. > What's odd is that the issue cropped up about 2 months ago which was a > good > 6 months after I installed Vista Ultimate X64. > Any idea as to how to fix this? > Thanks! > > AMD FX-60 Watercooled w/Danger Den TDX Waterblock Overclocked to 3GHZ > Thermaltake 1200W Truepower > EVGA 8800 GTX w/Danger Den waterblock > 2 Plextor PX-716AL ATA Drive > 2 WD 150 GB Raptors SATA in RAID 0 > 1 WD 500 GB SATA (my backup drive) > 1 WD 500 GB SATA (more backup) > ABIT Fatal1ty SLI with NF4 Chipset > 2 GB OCZ Platinum > Dell 2405FPW > X-FI Elite Pro > Logitech Z2300 2.1 Speakers > Logitech Revolution mouse > Razer mousepad > VISTA ULTIMATE X64 > |

| | Re: USB 2.x Crashes system but 1.x is ok with Nvidia NF4 Chipset I did have the latest chipset drivers installed but I uninstalled them and then reinstalled them. So far, no problems. Thanks for the advice.
