| | computer not responding I am using Vista home premium. When i put a DVD-RW in e drive and right click to erase it, it it just keeps running. When I pull up task manager it says computer not responding. | | Re: computer not responding Obviously, the computer is responding or you would not be able to open task manager and see the message. What program is not responding? Also, how long do you wait before opening task manager? In Vista you may see "Not Responding" in the titlebar of a window but the program turns out to be very busy and comes back to life in a few seconds to a few minutes. Not Responding can be an app hang but is just as often a temporary condition and may be normal for the task (large).
