| | windows vista: sound recorder I have windows vista home basic, installed on my laptop and I am having a problem with the sound recorder. Everytime I open it up, a window pops up saying, "Windows Sound Recorder is not installed properly. Run REGSVR32 WavDest.Dll." How do i go about fixing this problem? |

| | Re: windows vista: sound recorder so i basically entered in the search field when u open up the start button or th windows icon on windows vista in the bottom left-hand corner, enter the command and a window opened up saying "The module "WavDest.Dll." was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005. For more information about this problem, search online using the error code as a search term." So basically i either cannot run it or i don't know what i am doing. | | Re: windows vista: sound recorder ok so now that this application is workin again, i want to record some music. i have a microphone and a sound card installed in my motherboard i guess and i have speakers installed within my laptop. i try recording but it doesn't record anything. how do i solve this problem? | | Re: windows vista: sound recorder all it shows is the microphone-as the recording device. there is no line-in. and the computer sound, there is no "What-U-Hear" (Creative) or "Stereo Mix" (Realtek), or anything similar to that. | | Re: windows vista: sound recorder well i did the first part of what u said and I have "High definition Audio Device". i right clicked right click in the Recording window and selected "Show Disconnected Devices" and "Show Disabled Devices". And i have a dell inspiron 1501 laptop, so the sound card came with the laptop. it is built in.
