Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer with Fingerprint Reader will not work, please help!

Hi group,
I am trying to get the Fingerprint Reader to work, but no luck!
When I start the "Fingerprint registration wizard', I get the following
message:
"Error Invalid class string. Suspect installation problem." I have
un-installed, re-installed at least 10times. no luck.
I got the newest software from MicroSoft, DPPM_201_ENG.exe. (it says: VISTA
Compatible).Mouse works just fine. I googled for an answer, I found the same
problem that others also have, but nobody had an answer. I installed also
under Windows XP, there it works perfectly with the same installation
software.
Checked at the MS-knowledge base, fix recommendations are more than 2 years
old, tried it anyway, still no luck. Changed USB ports, ran it as Windows XP
compatible, tried really everything, I am really at a loss. Hopefully
someone out there has/had the same problem and got it working? After 2 days
of trying I'm really getting..., well you know what I mean!

Just be happy and keep on smiling!
Regards
Pete

Hi Dwarf,
Thanks alot for your fast response, but the mouse ist working O.K. I already
had IP32Eng6.20.182.0.exe installed. It's the printreader that refuses to
work.
Thank you for trying to help.
Pete

Is there really noone in this whole wide world that could help, with this
problem?
Not even a response from Microsoft or a MS-affiliate or MS-MVP ? Really
sad!

Re: Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer with Fingerprint Reader will not work, please help

I was going to call Microsoft on Monday. Has anyone else tried to contact them?

Digital Persona's website says support is provided by Microsoft.

I have used Microsoft Product Support Services by phone and email many times
and have always been pleased with the service and the resolutions to my
problems.

Re: Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer with Fingerprint Reader will not work, please help

I phoned Microsoft.

They suggested I add a new user account and re-install. I did this; it didn't work!

I have now been escalated and will be contacted in 3 days!

Re: Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer with Fingerprint Reader will not work, please help!

Hi Renegade,
I also tried that with a new user account and re-installed, like you said,
it didn't work.
Please let me know if MS came up with a brain storm for a fix.
Thanks.
