Computer won't detect mp3 player

Few days ago my mp3 player wouldn't synchronize to my computer so I went to
see whats wrong..

I've checked with the manufacturers knowledge base and I got to a part where
you have to change something in the registry editor..

I tried to do this but the message I always get is "Unable to save
permission changes on USB. Permission is denied." I don't see whats the
problem as theres only one account on this computer.. if anyone can help on
how to fix this would be much appreciated..

Regards Aaron

Re: Computer won't detect mp3 player

In Vista the even the Administrator account runs as a user who has to give
permission for any change to the system. If you run regedit with 'Run As
Administrator' you should be able to what you are trying to do.

Click on the Start orb and type "regedit" into the Start/Search box but do
not hit Enter. You will see the icon for regedit at the top of the results
pane. Right click the icon and choose Run As Administrator.

Hello Colin, thank you very much for replying!

I have tried running the registry editor as administrator, but the Access is
denined message insists on popping up and I cannot change it.

Re: Computer won't detect mp3 player

Are you trying to sync up a Creative Zen+ ? I had the same issue, too. I
was able to do the reg hack using Sys Internal tool but that still didn't
help. If it is a Zen, you need to upgrade the firmware. Easiest way to do
that is to go a pc running XP. I did that and haven't had any problems
since.

Re: Computer won't detect mp3 player

Hello paul!

I am using a Creative ZEN 16GB, I have tried to install the firmwire but
this isn't impossible of the computer can't even detect the mp3 player.
