Vista - Bsod Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

I got a few times the following BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) error message:

“A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
If this is the first time you’ve seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

I tried some of the recommended above steps, however I do not know how to disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. Could you please help?

My computer:
New PC Fujitsu-Siemens Scaleo Pi (Vista Home Premium 32 bit OS) with 3 GB memory, connected wirelessly via WLAN adaptor ASUS WL167G. This adaptor was not Vista compatible so I installed a Vista 32 bit Version 3.0.5.0 for Europe (since I am In Austria) driver from the ASUS site:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=WL-167g&type=map&mapindex=1

Any idea what could be the reason for the error message above?
