| | Standby lasts for a short period after which the system resumes After selecting standby, the system goes into standby mode for a few seconds and then awakes. The event logs reveal that the system was awakened by the usb root hub. The power settings on the usb root hubs do not have the allow device to awake frtom standby checked. Is there another setting somewhere where I can force wake-up from specified devices i.e. keyboard only? |

| | RE: Standby lasts for a short period after which the system resumes My keyboard worked this way after install even without any drivers. Check under device manager for your keyboard and enable the bring out of sleep from there. I had a USB root hub error in my logs which indicated the hub preventing sleep yet mine does sleep and the keyboard will bring me back again. I wasn't sure then if I should be using sleep in case I my monitor or something in the root hub would stop working. I liked sleep mode when I was leaving the computer for a while but this bit worried me. I will check my settings later but know my keyboard and not the mouse brought me back to the desktop without me having to configure anything. I would like to use sleep again as it worked fro me. The keyboard I am using for Vista is not even a really fancy one! "Conal" wrote: > After selecting standby, the system goes into standby mode for a few seconds > and then awakes.
