| | Re: 64 bit Vista Memory Go to the mobo manufacturer's website and determine which brands and speeds of ram have been tested, especially if you are attempting to use pc6400 memory. Also, use the forum on the mobo manufacturer's website for your mobo and get some advice. This is a common issue relating to pc6400 ram, use of the fourth dimm slot, and timings. There is also a MS patch but that is not a panacea for not using supported ram. There is an issue with my Hauppauge PVR-500 card where the 64-bit drivers aren't working right yet with the maximum memory a motherboard can take but other than that, no problem. Check your motherboard maker's Website. On some boards, all four RAM sockets can't be filled. On others (like mine) you have to use slower than the max RAM speed the motherboard allows when adding over a certain amount. Tom Lake |
