Re: nvidia driver

What is HP support telling you when you ask them about the problem.

Is the OS 32bit or 64bit? What specific model of dv6000 is your machine?

Re: nvidia driver

I get my driver updates via Windows Update. HP update always offers me old
versions of the drivers for my dv6330.

Get the driver from Nvidia, not from Microsoft or HP!

RE: nvidia driver

Maddi, or anyone out there...
I have a HP DV9500 and my computer also shuts down while on windows vista.
I get the following error:
Problem caused by NVIDIA Graphics Driver

This problem was caused by NVIDIA Graphics Driver. This program was created
by NVIDIA Corporation. NVIDIA Corporation does not currently have a solution
for the problem that you reported.

Recommendation

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following troubleshooting steps might prevent the problem from recurring.

Download and install an updated version of NVIDIA Graphics Driver from one
of the following locations:
Microsoft Update
NVIDIA Corporation
If an updated driver is not available for NVIDIA Graphics Driver, check with
your computer manufacturer.
If you are running the latest version of NVIDIA Graphics Driver, contact
NVIDIA Corporation for your support options.
Additional information

If this problem continues to occur after installing the latest product
updates, we recommend you get assistance and troubleshooting information
directly from NVIDIA Corporation.

I went to nvidia to get an updated driver - there fix is to contact HP. I
contacted HP and they sent me there latest driver. I deleted my old driver
and installed theirs. When i installed their latest driver, i got the "yes
to all" meaning I had it already. My computer still shuts down... Iv'e
talked to HP twice and looked all over windows to find a fix...still no fix.

Can anyone out there help me and Maddie? Please... Thanks in advance

Re: nvidia driver

You should not install drivers from the NVIDIA Website for a laptop you
should only install laptop Go drivers from the HP website for your model
laptop. This is because the laptop manufacturers modify the standard
drivers to work properly with their motherboard.

Re: nvidia driver

Uninstall the driver then reinstall by pointing to the folder containing the
download and see if there is any change.

Re: nvidia driver

Take a look here. http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/vista for your
laptop drivers. There is some "tweaking" involved to get them working
properly. I had problems with a Nvidia 7600 Go video card on my latpop and
vista. I didn't have your problem, but finding a driver was tough. I have
found that older games are not very well supported on laptops and Vista.

But check out their drivers (read on how to install them, you need to modify
the INF file) and give it a try....
