Vista - Re: Sound from headphones, but not without headphones?

I didn't have any sound issues before, but the other day I used
headphones on my laptop, and now, I can't hear anything WITHOUT
headphones.

So, when I plug in headphones, I can hear sounds. If I unplug the
headphones, no sound comes out of the speakers on my laptop.

I've checked the volume, checked to make sure it's not muted...I'm
stumped. Any suggestions?

I get the same results if my headphones are plugged in also, but if I unplug
the headphones and restart the program, my speakers work just fine.
Try rebooting with the headphones unplugged.

I have the same problem, but the problem doesn't go away after a reboot. I
went online with DELL for 2 hrs. We checked all settings, reinstalled sound
driver, reset BIOS, restarted computer from a safe state two days before the
problem occured. Still no sound from PC, it only works with headphones.
DELL said next step is to install OS! Any ideas out there?
