re creative soundblaster

I am using a creative sound blaster live 5.1 and creative 5.1 speakers.
I downloaded the latest driver from microsoft. When I try to configure
the speakers I can only choose Stereo or Mono. I don't have the option
for 5.1 speakers. Does anybody else have the same problem?

Thanks
Claudia

Re: re creative soundblaster

i downloaded my old drivers that I used for XP. I have now the option to
choose between stereo, mono, surround sound, quadraphonic and 5.1.
However I only get sound if I use the stereo option. All the other
choices, I don't get sound out of any of my speakers.

Re: re creative soundblaster

use following info

Creative SoundBlaster Live! Series. Works with special drivers found here
http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=F...&dwn_cat_id=20 (32 Bit) (does
not work with gamer mode, nothing gets installed) Instead, download the WinXP
driver, run it (it will say and error message, don't press OK yet, go to (for
example C:\Users\a\AppData\Local\Temp\CRF000\Audio\Drivers\WIN2K_XP) and in
device manager click "update driver" and use that path. Or you can extract
the driver from the package. Download LiveDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe (24.451.404
bytes) and extract the /audio/drivers folder and run CTZAPXX.exe to install
the drivers. Now digital output trough the creative digital din plug works
with 5.1 speaker setting with Creative Inspire 5.1.
