Biometric sensor on VAIO

After installing vista my biometrics arn't working. The sensor seems to be
working fine, because I can enter fingers in and it will acknowledge. The
problem is I never get promted to use it and if I run my finger, over the
scanner it doesn't open the program.. I did download a driver update from
microsoft but still does not work.

In device manager I did run the diagnostic tool for biometric and it fails
to run DLL.
Error report, then brings up a DEP help file. Saying dep may be preventing
the program from running.

Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks
