| | Re: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS If it is one I think it is (PCMCIA card for a laptop) the website says for Vista "(Beta drivers available from us.creative.com)" Have you downloaded and installed the drivers from us.creative.com? The drivers that come with it are for XP and W2k. .. | | Re: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Are you trying to use the drivers from the cd that comes with it? The website says to get beta drivers from us.creative.com for Vista. The ones on the cd are only for Windows 2000 and XP. | Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Colin is right, the out-of-box drivers arent Vista compatible. The creative site has vista drivers on it. The problem i'm finding is that although i've got sound i have no means of calibrating the speakers like i did on WinXP......... |

| | Re: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS TommyK and others: I found the so-called Vista driver for the Audigy Notebook 2 ZS, but it sounded — at best — no better than the on-board system, and not nearly as good as it does in my XP laptop. So I uninstalled it. Giving it another go, I downloaded the driver again last night off the Creative website, but when I plugged in the sound card I got the dreaded BSOD. Now I'm afraid to try it again. Are you supposed to install the card first, then download and install the driver? Could that be the reason for the blue screen? | | Re: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Some hardware should not be installed until the software is installed first. This is usually the case with HP printers. A sound card may work the same way but check the manual on the website. Most plug and play devices work the other way; you plug in the device and let the system find the software and install it. | Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS I can't comment for the laptop card, and as for desktop PC's this isn't an option as its a PCI card, not a PnP device. I can say however that the sounds quality is superior to that of my onboard chipset, which is quite noticible in games with EAX. My only gripe at the minute as that i cant calibrate the speakers so the sound is a bit unbalanced in my room. |

| | Re: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS TommyK, Keep us posted. I'm always interested in better (and louder) sound. No matter what you've got, there's always something else that's better. Kind of like computers and HDTVs. "TommyK" <TommyK.36mvp2@xxxxxx-mx.forums.net> wrote in message news:TommyK.36mvp2@xxxxxx-mx.forums.net...
