    Mouse alignment

I am having a problem with my mouse pointer. When I move the pointer/arrow
over an "X" I have noticed that if I try to click on the "X" (or whatever the
button may be for that matter) I have to actually move the pointer so that it
is above what I want to select. The odd thing is though, that this is not
always the case. Sometimes the poiner works just fine. I have noticed that
this does not happen on just certain applications; for the most part it just
randomly happens. It does consistently happen howver with the items shown in
the tray at the lower right portion of my screen. Any ideas how to fix this?
    It is very annoying!!

Is this a laptop? If so, have you disabled the touchpad to see if things
improve? What kind of mouse and how is it attached? We really need to know
about your setup to make suggestions. How about specifics?

I have the same problem. I am running a Dell 420 with Vista using an optical
mouse which I had no problem with using it on the old computer with XP.

But is the mouse usb, ps/2, wireless? You folks just don't understand that
if you don't tell us what you have we can't help.

I have the same problem with Dell 530 and a USB optical mouse. I
removed and redownloaded the drivers and it didn't happen. It is not
just websites though, I've had it occur on Outlook ,my Blackberry
    Desktop Manager and and itunes.

It does not appear to be occuring right now on this website though.

Thank goodness someone else is experiencing this - I thought I was all alone
in the world! I'm running a new Dell Inspiron 530 with Vista Premium on a
Samsung SM226BW, using a Logitech LX710 mouse (which worked fine on XP). I've
re-loaded, down-loaded and reloaded the drivers for the mouse and for the
monitor. I've ticked the "enhance pointer precision" box on the Mouse
Properties. If you need to know anything else please do I ask. I so need to
    get this sorted!
