after installing a new maxtor as slave on primary IDE and booting into Vista
I rc'd a demand to install drivers.This failed and was followed with the same
for my 2 DVD drives. I now have only my 1st hard drive showing and attempts
to re-install fail. The Ist drive is a Samsung and the new one is a Maxtor.
All works well in XP and Linux. Any ideas or do I just have to wait for RC1?

after posting I rebooted and after re-starting Vista and responding to
requests for driver insrallation (which failed) the drives were once more
back in place. Of course I don't know how long before they will disappear
again but...fingers crossed. Sorry for any niusance caused.
