attach photos to e-mail

My wife wants to know how to attach pictures that she has in our computer to
an email. We have a Dell 530 with Windows home vista, and yahoo is our
homepage.

Re: attach photos to e-mail

How you do that depends on your email client. What are you using?

In mine I have a paper clip icon in the bar at the top. That is for
attaching files to my emails. In MSN Premium I have a Share Photos icon in
the top row. It varies. Tell us what you are using.

Select the photo, right-click it, and select "Send to email contact" or
the like. Every email client has the same type of context (right-click)
menu item, but the wording might be slightly different.

Your email client will open a "composition" window that you can use to
write an email message to your recipient. The photo will already be
"attached" to your message.

Re: attach photos to e-mail

When you open the compose section in yahoo mail, there is an attach paperclip
right beside the send button!!!
Click on that, and browse for what you want to attach to send!

Re: attach photos to e-mail

WE get so far in attaching photo to email and then we get a notice that
reads: Host yahoo could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the
server name correctly. Subject'emailing pics accent 'yahoo server
yahoo;protocal.smtp port 25, secure(ssl) no, socket error 11001 error number
0x800cccod. How/where do we go to fix this?

If you use Yahoo for mail, that is done via your browser - Internet
Explorer, Firefox, etc.
Visit http://MAIL.YAHOO.COM. Attachments can be sent as described by
others who have responded here.

If instead you are attempting to send mail with an e-mail client -
Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird,
etc. - then you must configure that mail client for your internet
provider's (ISP) POP/SMTP mail server. This has nothing to do with
Yahoo or the fact that you use Yahoo.com as your home page.

Read your internet provider's mail HELP files, or get in touch with them
by phone or e-mail. They will provide the correct server addresses/names.

That done, you will be able to send mail and attachments via these
e-mail clients.

RE: attach photos to e-mail

I have a new Dell computer with Windows Vista Home Premium, When attempting
to send pictures with Windows mail I receive the message that some pictures
may be lost and the recipients do not receive the photos. After unchecking
the security setting to "Block images", I still could not send images in
emails. Perplexed by this problem I tried downloading Outlook 2007 to see if
that would work. While I didn't receive the message that pictures would be
lost, I did receive numerous emails back that none of the pictures I sent
were viewable. Do I simply need to go back to the user friendly XP to
resolve this problem or can Vista work?

It is likely that something is not configured correctly as I and others
have no problem sending images via WLM. The SECURITY tab|block images
options apply to incoming mail, not to mail that you send.

Are you attempting to ATTACH images? Please describe the steps that you
take.
Have you spoken with your ISP's tech support folks, to see if they might
have a clue?
