| | Problems with PCMCIA firewire card and crashes Hello, I've got window's vista, and recently bought a "Combo Cardbus" PCMCIA card which gives me firewire and additional USB connections. When I put it in the slot on my laptop windows vista automatically installed a driver. However if I plug any USB or firewire device into it the system will work for around 5 minutes and then suddenly freeze, meaning the only way I can stop it is to turn it off with the power button. Is there anyway around this? Is my card not vista compatible? Can I get a different driver from somewhere (I've tried searching for new drivers both through windows device management and on the recommended site http://www.drivers-download.com from the user manual on the card)? I'm using an Acer Aspire, with windows Vista home premium. Many thanks. |
