Bluetooth problems

(I asked this question in the general forum, only afterwards I noticed
that this group was available)

Hi, I have an Acer 5920 which includes a Bluetooth adapter. I pair a
bluetooth GPS with no problems, and any program can open the port and
communicate with the GPS.

But if I put the laptop to sleep, when I wake it up the GPS still
connects to the laptop, but the port cannot be opened anymore. If I
restart Vista, and I pair the GPS again, the port can be opened; sleep
again, and the port is dead.

I've also tried hooking up a Dell Axim v50 through bluetooth to the
laptop and the same happens: after waking up from sleep, the laptop is
unable to open the COM port.

Anyone knows what this could be about?

Re: Bluetooth problems

Check Device manager-bluetooth devices. One should list Power Management
tab. Be sure neither box is checked. You don't want BT to power down

Thanks for the suggestion But it's not that. The device clearly
indicates that it connects every time, so the Bluetooth radio *is*
working. It's the port that cannot be opened by the applications (after
the first time).
