| | Ghost Icon for USB Toshiba External Hard Drive Hello, I have a 160 Gig Toshiba USB external hard drive that is working fine. However, instead of getting an external hard drive icon I am getting that strange looking 'ghost' icon that Windows uses when it does not recognize the device it is connected to. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium. I am able to save and move files back and forth to and from my local disk c:. This ghost icon is annoying and it is telling me that something is wrong at the application layer I would say because it is not telling the physical layer what the external hard drive is. How could I fix this? BTW I cannot even change the icon by right clicking and going into properties, there is no option to change the icon. |
