| | MS_UpdateNtmsOmidInfo error message using ntbackup Recently upgraded to Windows Ultimate and want to use tape backup for selected data backup (20 GB per tape). Since Vista does not support SCSI Tape Backup, I did some more research and decided to install ntbackup. After installing, the backup software sees the tape drive and interacts with it, i.e. I can run the diagnostic tests and all steps are given a passing grade. However, when I try to do a backup, I receive an error message -- MS_UpdateNtmsOmidInfo. Error reported: 8 -- which I don't understand. I tried Google and a few other forums, including searches in this newsgroup, and could not find anything that would work. It sounds like there may be a Services setting that needs to be adjusted but I have no idea if (1) that's the correct assessment OR (2) it's something else. I'm beginning to rule out hardware and tape (since I have tried a number of different ones). Would appreciate any help/direction/advice ... Thanks |
