| | Roll back? I currently own a audio input interface called MobilePre USB. I have recently purchased a computer with Windows Vista which (I think) is using service pack one (not sure how to check this!). The audio interface has been causing my computer to crash (blue screen) and having contacted the company they have told me that the hardware is not supported by Vista service pack one. They did say though that I can "roll-back" my system which would cure the problem. I am unsure about how to do this or whether this is safe to do. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks! |

| | RE: Roll back? Click on Start>right-click Computer>Left-click Properties There you will see what version you are using. Service Pack 1 for Vista is a combination of Security and Performance updates. "Roll Back", uninstalling it is a backwards step in the setup of your computer. Simple answer: don't do it, buy new vista compatible Hardware! -- Mick Murphy - Qld - Australia "Futuramaboy" wrote: Quote: > I currently own a audio input interface called MobilePre USB. > I have recently purchased a computer with Windows Vista which (I think) is > using service pack one (not sure how to check this!). > > The audio interface has been causing my computer to crash (blue screen) and > having contacted the company they have told me that the hardware is not > supported by Vista service pack one. > They did say though that I can "roll-back" my system which would cure the > problem. | | RE: Roll back? One thing I forgot to tell you. It has nothing to do with vista supporting it! The MobilePre mob are responsibile for writing the Drivers to make it compatible with vista. They can not be bothered doing it, hence your problem! Hi Mick, Thanks for that. I've followed your instructions. Looking at the System the following info is listed:... Windows Edition: Windows Vista Home Premium System Type: 32 Bit Operating System But it doesn't state whether it's service pack one or two....Any other way I can check? Maybe I'm being incredibly thick?.... Don't answer that! |

The second line on the page will say "Version 6.0 (Build 6001: Service Pack 1)" if SP1 came installed on your computer. If it does not then you still have the original version of Vista. If it does it means that the version of Vista on your computer has SP1 built in. If so, you cannot "roll back" because there is nothing to roll back to since SP1 was not applied separately. |
