Dvd

my dvd doesn't let me install games ,even originals.
as soon i put the disc in the windows goes in shut donw mode .
can anyone help me with this?

I think that is Autorun issue.Try to turn of Autorun for DVD drive,or change action when is application DVD/CD put to drive to "No action".

So,go to Control Panel and select Auto Play---->Software and Games,from drop down list select Take no Action or Ask me every time

i have a asus commando board ,p4 2.8ghz, 2 gb ram
desktop, running windows vista home
tryed to change dvd drive does the same thing
the one i have on now is a hl-dt-st dvd-rom
