| | Silicon Image 3112a drivers I have installed Vista OK with existing XP drivers, but I have two questions: 1. I am not sure what the latest XP version is, can anyone tell me, and where to get it? 2. Are the above the best to use with Vista, or has anyone found anything better? Thanks, PB |

| | Re: Silicon Image 3112a drivers Silicon Image seem to have dropped support for the 3112a from their website. However, updates do still occassionally come from Windows Updates. The latest drivers from that source are the 1.0.56. ones. However, because they are directly installed is difficult to transfer them to Vista. For my Vista setup I have used the last that were available from the SI website - the 1.0.053 version. These seem to run OK although the Control Panel readout doesn't work properly. What version did you use? | | Re: Silicon Image 3112a drivers Correction, you can get the 1.0.56.1 drivers off the SI website by entering Sil 3512 into the selection list. All the latest 3x12 drivers can be found there. | | Re: Silicon Image 3112a drivers It is not clear to me if you are saying that Vista is on the hard drive that is not recognised and does not boot or that Vista is OK, boots and that it is another hard drive that it does not recognise. Until I know this I cannot suggest anything. | | Re: Silicon Image 3112a drivers Having a similar problem Have an NForce 3 250 mobo (Gigabyte K8N Pro) I am trying to install Vista X64 I can install Vista using my old XP x64 drivers (tried the latest ones from SiI) - all installs fine, but when the installation asks to reboot it comes up with windows\system32\drivers\si3112.sys is corrupt or missing. Have tried a few times, with different vversions of the driver, and different flopies, all to the same result. | | Re: Silicon Image 3112a drivers Presumably you are giving Vista the drivers during the initial dialog when it shows the 'load drivers' button. Are you loading more than just the Sil drivers at this point? I found that if I added only the Sil drivers it worked, whilst if I added other non-essential drivers at that point, to stop nag screens, it failed. I assumed that Vista was getting confused about which driver to use. However, my situation was rather different - Vista 32 bit on nForce 2 Ultra.
