Vista - Epson Stylus Photo R300 (RC1)

When using applications such as word and other office applications I can
print with my photo printer, but when trying to print a photo using Windows
Photo gallery I get an error message:

'Windows Can't find a print provider for this printer. You may need to
re-install the printer, and then try again.'

I would really like to print pictures in vista as I currently do not have XP
installed.

I had a similar problem with my HP 450 printer and after posting the problem was told that they were working on it and that it was only that printer that had reported that problem. You need to report it to Microsoft. I also have the Epson R220 printer which works great. I know that it works using the XP drivers in both X86 and X64 Vista. Did you use the XP drivers or did you let Vista install drivers? If you used XP drivers you might want to go into the control panel find your printer, select properties and select update driver. I'm on an XP machine now so cant give exact process. If that doesnt work you might try uninstalling it then just plug it in and let Vista try to install it. keep posting progress.

I don't have any problems printing from Photo Gallery using my R800. My
understanding is that the R300 is very similar. Maybe something didn't
install correctly? I'm running Vista 32 bits.

I am also using the 32Bit version. I will remove the printer and put it back
and see if that works.

I didn't realize I have this same problem until reading this thread...

I have RC1-64 and an R300. Printing is fine in Word but I also get the
error "Windows can't find a printer provider for this printer. You may need
to re-install the printer, and then try again" when trying to print from
Photo Gallery.

Has anyone had success printing form Photo Gallery with a R300?

Has anyone tried the R220 drivers. My R220 works great. With My HP 450 I tried about 6 different drivers and got it to print but the quality sucked I will keep trying others till I find the right one. My R220 installed with the XP drivers and even the Print CD works. Dont give up. If you find a driver post it and maybe you can help others with the same problem.

I have the R220;and the drivers work good; havent chked lately;but the
software utility that looks at ink levels was messin up;causin it to not
function. So used the r210 software and drivers;works fine too. And I can
see the ink levels.

I never checked the ink levels will have to check when I get home. With the R21 drivers can you print on CD's?

i think so;
i never used the cd software;chk it out;maybe ya can
