| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Camcorder not recognized through IEEE 1394 Hello, I have a Sony DCR-TRV280 camcorder and I recently tried to connect it to my notebook(both have firewire ports) through the i.LINK cable. Problem is, my computer doesn't detect it in any way. I tried using Windows Movie Maker as the capturing program but it doesn't detect neither. I figured it would be like USB and would detect new hardware. I also looked under the device manager. Not found. Would anyone know what the problem is? |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Camcorder not recognized through IEEE 1394 Hmmm. VTR mode? I'm guessing that's playback mode, correct? The camcorder was on. I'll wait to see if I get any more replies before I contact Sony support. |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Camcorder not recognized through IEEE 1394 Anyone else here that might know what the problem is? EDIT: I rechecked and the IEEE 1394 is detected in the device manager. I tried something from an old post on this board (involved uninstalling ieee device from manager and manually picking a directory for the drivers to install for the camcorder). Firewire (IEEE 1394) not working Computer did not detect camcorder but it detects the ieee 1394 cable. Last edited by Shabaman; 07-19-2008 at 05:21 AM.. |
