Hi all, first question long time lurker. thanks for all the great suggestions and help you all provide!!! my issue is my mouse it locks up at random times and for different time periods? its a razer death adder has latest drivers and firmware tried a reinstall of drivers and firmaware as well as a clean install of vista. having the x-fi crackin problem too!!!

Ensure you have all your drivers up to date.
Ensure the mobo drivers and sound drivers are from the manufacturers website and not microsoft.
When you get the lockups is there alot of disk activity? It sounds as if a program is hogging your system.
Get a program to monitor your cpu usage, this will tell you if the lockups are due to high cpu usage which would help to solve your problem.
