How to increase mouse pointer speed past windows vista max

I am at the max speed setting for my mouse and enhance pointer position is
turned off. Is there a way to increase the speed past windows max either by
regedit or other means?

The only way I know of is to buy a higher "resolution" mouse (which
generates more pulses per inch of movement). Mice designed for gaming are
particularly good in this respect - check the Logitech range.
