Webcam with error 39... no solution... help!!

Hi all i am desperade, this time i am afraid i will have to format my laptop
with Viista 32 genuine.
A week ago i awake my laptop from standby mode, and as usual my mouse
logitech mx 510 worked too slow, so i disconnected it to reconnect, usually
this fixes problem. However, this time i reconnected mouse and it did not
work at all (bottom red LED off) so i rebooted machine and... then mouse was
ok BUT... webcam(s) did work no more!! all with a nice (!) yellow and error
code 39 driver missing or corrupted. I am referring to 3 different devices: a
Microsoft vx1000, a microsoft vx6000 and also the laptop internal webcam. I
have tried EVERYTHING, i have reinstalled all possible drivers, also in
rescue mode, i even disinstalled and reinstalled all usb controllers and
hubs, i have followed the KB articles referring to upper aln lowerfilters,
there is no filter in the webcam class. Even the virtual webcam driver of the
MANYCAM appllication is not working. the only working thing is the webcam for
XBOX 360 that uses a generic vista driver (usbvideo.sys)
Usb is working good, the usb flash drives work correctly.
WHAT CAN I DO?? PLEASE SUGGEST SOMETHING
Thanks all

Re: Webcam with error 39... no solution... help!!

waking stuff up from standby is known to sometimes not wake USB devices correctly.

Also, how many mofo webcams have u got plugged into that? u have mentioned 3 webcams, and i
assume u have one?

either case, remove ALL webcam drivers

reset your machine

install ONE webcam driver that corresponds to what you have from the manufacturer website

maybe need to reset depending

Re: Webcam with error 39... no solution... help!!

Yes, i have many webcams, and before this problem i can ensure you, i could
use them all together if i wanted. But usually i have at most 2 webcams
plugged, the laptop internal one and the vx1000: because i don't like the
internal one, I use the Lifecam vx1000. Unfortunately i cannot unplug the
internal one (obviously)

I have already tried to uninstall all, and even uninstall all usb drivers...
nothing changed.

funny thing: the internal webcam seems to work with the same vista driver of
the Xbox360 webcam. But image is upside down! But the strange thing is that,
with that driver it works, with the original asus driver i get the error 39
instead...

Re: Webcam with error 39... no solution... help!!

well, after ANY software installation when the restore was on, i had Hard
disk working for something like 5-10 minutes, during wich system was
slower... I know that this is not a big problem, i made a bad choice. However
many ppl say that error 39 is not fixed by restore.
