i have 32bit vista and everytime i open a folder and drag something to the desktop it freezes and takes forever to respond... i have 4gb ram.... someone told me to go into the event viewer and go to the app logs... i see error WMI VSS event system app system... those are the errors... i was also told it could be my mouse since its wireless bout i doubt that.. its more of a system freeze then a cursor freeze

have you ran any virus or spyware scans? (i recommend Avast and Ad-aware2008).

try a clean boot to disable any program running on the background that could be causing the issue.
Also try running startup repair , it can repair start up issues, some registry problems, etc.

i dont think any of those are the issue imo.... i went into event log and got some errors... VSS system error WMI error event system error... how do i go about repairing these? i dont really wanna do a download of that recovery for vista... not a big downloading fan... what else can i try... i have ran scans i have avg and ad aware

try downloading a registry fixer or cleaner, and try kaspersky antivirus.... the 2009 version is much better....^^

what registry fixer do u reccomend

ok so i heard that the registery fixer is a bad idea... the registry is very sensitive to errors, if it finds one and removes it, it can mess up your os... so im not going that route... what other things is there to try... is my wireless mouse causing it? i heard possibly... but is it only a issue with vista and wireless mouses? thanks

so what will fix this.... i know someone out there know the exact problem.... and can explain in simple details how to cure it

Back up your regestry before doing a fix of any defects found. Any restry program will give you that option. Also have you tried to run system restore to a date before you had this problem.
