Re: Microsoft Laser Mouse 8000 Cradle Problems

I think this is the answer, 8000 or 7000 model, I believe they use the
same charging circuit..
The problem is that the battery falls below the chargers ability to
recognise the cell. The charger starts charging and then fails because
it thinks the battery is either not there or too flat to see it. There
can be 2 issues here, the battery terminals are dirty or the battery has
become too flat.
Solution - wiggle everything and wipe everything cleaning all terminals
including the battery. For very flat batteries, switch the mouse to OFF
and start charging, it will probably turn red and flash, reset the mouse
into the cradle and start charging again, this may happen 2,3 maybe 20
times.. Eventually the light will remain slowly flashing green and
charge.
It surprises me that such a simple totally avoidable issue in
development from microsoft has slipped through.
