The crucial scan doesn't work on Vista - you need to do it manually. -- Asking a question? | | Re: According to our scan, your system already has the maximum amount of memory installed Check your PC manual to see what type of memory you need and the maximum amount you can install. The last time I used Crucial it told me I had 4 memory slots when there are only 2 on the motherboard. Your system manufacturer knows exactly how many slots are on your motherboard and how much memory you can upgrade to. The amount of RAM you have determines how many programs can be executed at one time and how much data can be readily available to a program. It also determines how quickly your applications perform and how many applications you can easily toggle between at one time. Simply put, the more RAM you have, the more programs you can run smoothly and simultaneously.

| | Re: According to our scan, your system already has the maximum amount of memory installed Obviously, the scan is wrong if you have 1Gig installed, and the PC is working. Remember that Dell, in a lot of cases, uses non standard hardware and BIOS. "lilazndood1" <guest@xxxxxx-email.com> wrote in message news:28d99d29d8d5844368568ad841138e44@xxxxxx-gateway.com...
