Re: Bose Companion 5 USB Audio stuttering on Vista

I LOVE YOU!!!!

I have been struggling to find a solution to this problem for almost 2
years!

I have an AMD laptop dual-boot set up with XP and Vista Ultimate 32-bit
(SP1), and the Bose Companion 5. In XP the speakers have always worked
perfectly, but in Vista the speakers have been unusable on account of
the frequent crackle, pops, and drop-outs.

After reading your post just now and setting the Power Options in
Control Panel to either "High Performance" or "Power Saver" (instead of
the default "Balanced") I have for the first time ever been able to
listen to a song in Vista with no distortions or problems whatsoever!

THANK YOU!!

So it seems that you hit the nail on the head with the problem, and
that using the Power Options in Control Panel is an alternative to using
AMD's Power tool.

Good luck if you are still pursuing Bose for a solution.
