| | mobile intel(r) 4 series express chipset family graphics card issue i need some help. i'm trying to upgrade from vista home basic to vista ultimate. the only problem is when i ran the vista upgrade advisor, everything including windows aero compatibility checked out fine except for my mobile intel(r) 4 series express chipset family graphics card. i've been on several different sites that said my mobile intel(r) 4 series express chipset family graphics card was compatible and that there wouldn't be any problems if i were to upgrade from vista home basic to vista ultimate. so why is the upgrade advisor saying my mobile intel(r) 4 series express chipset family graphics card won't work on vista, escpecially when it's already working on vista home basic? the reason i mentioned that is because the upgrade advisor said my mobile intel(r) 4 series express chipset family graphics card won't work on vista at all. yet like i said, it's already running on vista home basic. | | Re: mobile intel(r) 4 series express chipset family graphics card issue Just because it will run on Vista Home Basic does not meant that it will support Aero on Ultimate. I believe that upgrade advisor is saying only saying that all of the graphic features of Vista ultimate are not supported. For Aero support you need 1GB or more RAM and your on board raphics card has to have at east 64MB of memory available "Cody Jarrett" <artcody@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:q62kp415un6t1vjfiu7u2j1ksquk287rcl@xxxxxx Quote: > On Mon, 16 Feb 2009 15:57:33 -0800, JaronDaWiz wrote: > Quote: >>i need some help. i'm trying to upgrade from vista home basic to vista >>ultimate. the only problem is when i ran the vista upgrade advisor, >>everything including windows aero compatibility checked out fine except >>for my mobile intel(r) 4 series express chipset family graphics card. i've >>been on several different sites that said my mobile intel(r) 4 series >>express chipset family graphics card was compatible and that there >>wouldn't be any problems if i were to upgrade from vista home basic to >>vista ultimate. so why is the upgrade advisor saying my mobile intel(r) 4 >>series express chipset family graphics card won't work on vista, >>escpecially when it's already working on vista home basic? the reason i >>mentioned that is because the upgrade advisor said my mobile intel(r) 4 >>series express chipset family graphics card won't work on vista at all. >>yet like i said, it's already running on vista home basic. >> >> >>Post Originated from http://www.VistaForums.com Vista Support Forums > What is your graphics card? |

| | Re: mobile Intel(r) 4 series express chipset family graphics card issue Being compatible with Vista just means that the card will work in vista. It does not mean that the card supports a lot of MS Vista functionality. For that you need a card that is Vista certified instead.
