I have an external harddisk which continuesly is read only no matter what i do. I have browsed the net intensively to find a solution, but can se the problem solved anywhere.



I am running Vista Home Premium x64. When I right click the HD and click preperties, I dont have a security tab, so I cant do the solutions that involve that.

Take ownership of the drive.

It didnt help neither. The take ownership option doesnt show for the drive. It shows for subfolders, but when I do it, im still not able to do anything afterwards.
